This copy is in new, unmarked and seemingly unread condition bound in faux calf covered boards with bright gilt titling to the spine. This copy is bright, tight, white and square. There is an attractive bookplate to the front paste down. The unclipped dust wrapper is in new condition. International postal rates are calculated on a book weighing 1 Kilo, in cases where the book weighs more than 1 Kilo increased postal rates will be quoted, where the book weighs less then postage will be reduced accordingly. Significant research into the life and output of the Welsh clockmaker, Samuel Roberts. Very readable and most interesting. The Montgomeryshire clock maker (c. 1720- 1800) produced about 600 clockes each of which was numbered and dated. Fortunately he left behind an account book listing his business activities covering the years 1755 - 74. This new study uses this and other documentary sources as well as surveys of over one hundred of his surviving clocks to examine in depth the life, creativity, social and cultural contexts of a working craftsman.
