Red Eve, H.Rider Haggard, Hodder and Stoughton, 1911, First Edition First Impression This is a historical novel with fantasy elements set in the reign of Edward III. The story depicts the Battle of Crecy and the Black Death and also features a supernatural personification of Death called Murgh. This is a First Edition First Impression in very good condition. The binding is straight and tight, the boards are clean with an intact picture of Murgh attached to the front board and the gilt lettering on the front board and spine is bright. There is some shelf wear to the top and bottom edge of the spine. The slightly toned and foxed front papers and pages are clean without marks or tears.
