Descripción
Printed on heavy toned art paper in red and black with some occasional coloured plates. Olive-green cloth, spine and upper board titled in gilt, decorative endpapers. Stephenson, Blake ownership label. A fine copy of one of the great specimen books. The pagination is somewhat irregular, in itself suggesting later issue. This is confirmed by the inclusion on a stub of BASUTO (1927), MAZARIN (an SB recutting of a Deberny & Peignot face) and GANTON (1927). Collated: Pages, 1-87[8], 97-118, [2], Display Types, Basuto, 119-124, 135-148, 148a-b (Verona Bold), 151-202, 202a-d (Winchester Bold), 203-290, 290a (Ganton), 291-302, 302a (Spartan Bold Expanded), 303-350 [2], Grots & Sans-Serifs, 383-392, (Grotesque No.18), 393, 398-426[2], Scripts, 435-438, [443]-462, Black Letter, 481-496, 501-523[1], Borders, 533-544, 544a-d, 545-592, Figures, 601-616, Spacing Material, 621-624, Brass Rules, 631-642[2], Electros 651-678, Wood Letter, |691-698, 699-702.
