Yellow cloth, titles printed in brown on the front cover, tan front and rear endpapers, [9] [blank], 63 [2] pp., frontispiece [photograph of the author], double column, foreword, acknowledgements, illustrated from photographs and drawings, portraits. The foreword says "You won't find Pilares, Texas on the map any more! Pilares, which is located sort of south of the Rimrock from Valentine, had a change in its name over the years. When John and Mary Daniels moved their post office from Porvenir to Pilates, about 1933, they continued to use the Porvenir cancellation stamp. So the old Pilares is now known as Porvenir. (Do not confuse this with El Porvenir)." The author says that the stories in this book are all true told by people who were there during the Mexican Revolution in which Pancho Villa played a part. This book is the author's copy in which she has made several inked notations throughout the text to modify, correct and revise sections that needed alterations. These were to be made prior to publishing a revised edition. The book itself is of interest and the inked corrections add much to her story. Fine bright copy in a lightly used dust jacket.
