[a nice copy, book has just a touch of wear to the spine ends; the jacket shows just a bit of wear at the edges and extremities, presents nicely in new mylar]. Two works by Williams -- the first ("Orpheus") actually being a rewritten version of the second. "Battle of Angels" had actually been the first of Williams's plays to be produced, in 1940, but "failed spectacularly" (per T.W.) in its Boston tryout and wasn't staged in New York until 1974. The revised version fared somewhat better, enjoying a modest run of 68 performances on Broadway in 1957, after which it was adapted for the 1960 feature film THE FUGITIVE KIND, directed by Sidney Lumet and starring Marlon Brando and Anna Magnani.
