Lightly bumped spine head and tail, and with sharp corners. A very clean binding. Text block firmly bound in. With ix and 205 numbered pages on off-white, semi-glossy stock. Prof. Boltz takes in part a comparative approach to the origin and early structure and development of Chinese writing, suggesting that in its general principles the process was matched pari passu by the way writing first arose in Mesopotamia, Egypt, and among the Mayas (for example, that the Chinese script records the sounds of words, not ideas). Descripción de la tienda

Welcome to the books platform of Marc Sena Carrel. I operated a professional book business between 2003 and 2017 in the San Francisco Bay Area, including via AbeBooks, and I am now a private party selling off fine books from my personal collection. I carry a choice selection of books, prints and ephemera for the discriminating customer. I focus on scholarly and antiquarian books, with a special emphasis on art books. From time to time I also offer original prints, including but not limited to antique Japanese ukiyo-e prints. Additionally I go in for occasional ephemera. Currently on offer via Abebooks are select titles. My selection is more eclectic and off the beaten path than mainstream and predictable. Please e-mail me at marcsenacarrel@gmail.com if you have any questions or concerns. I will be happy to be of service. Thank you.…
