Hardcover. Condición: Good. No Jacket. This is an interesting find. A UK Boots Booklovers' Library copy of this famous novel. It has been made up from pages of the Secker and Warburg first printing. Interestingly, this copy is smaller in size (at approx 18cms x 12cms) than the standard Secker and Warburg 1st Edition. The margins at the edges of the pages are much narrower. However, this copy does contain the 'First Printing 1949' statement on the copyright page. - The book is in good condition overall. It has a slight lean and a push to the top and bottom of the spine. Bumps to the outside corners of the boards, with some rubbing and loss to these areas. The page block is dusty in appearance and has a black mark to the bottom (possibly a remainder mark). It has pulled away from the spine at the top, but is still attached. Internally, the book has the remains of a Boots Book lovers library sticker to the reverse paste down, but no other library marks. Some foxing to the pages, particularly those at the front and end. Otherwise complete and a good copy overall. Boots Booklovers' Library was a circulating library run by Boots the Chemist, a chain of pharmacies in the United Kingdom. It began in 1898 and closed in 1966. The lending libraries were established within branches of Boots across the UK. Nº de ref. del artículo: ABE-1729510487267
