8vo. Pp. 24. With b&w line drawings and photos. Loaded with ads that reflect a theater-going society seemingly immune to the immediate effects of the Great Depression. One is a two-page Rea Irvin cartoon, showing a perplexed recipient of an African artifact-gift. Rife with ads for all manner of products marketed to upscale New Yorkers. Production mounted at the Forrest Theatre, after a succesful West End run (over 300 performances) with Charles Laughton in the lead. Production directed by Lee Ephraim and Carol Reed. Cast includes Crane Wilbur as the gangster, loosely based on Al Capone, with Anna May Wong as his mistress, along with John Wheeler, John Adair, Suezo Tokoro, John Gallaudet, et al. Opening night was December 15, 1930. Program contains a profile of NYC's Fiftieth Street, by "Tab." Now housed in an archival mylar sleeve with backing. N° de ref. del artículo 407
