When googling a book for research purposes I have seldom come up with such a paucity, such a scarcity, such a total dearth of information as I did with this book. I found only a single reference to it, a mention in "A List of Northwest Juveniles" in the "Pacific Northwest Quarterly" in 1944. Certainly very few copies ever listed for sale. But here's what I can tell you. The author, Rhoda Nelson, is best known for three books, published in the 1930s, written with a Delia Morris Stephenson under the joint pseudonym of Rhoda Morris. All her books are set in the Pacific Northwest and feature the history, the native Americans, and the pioneering white settlers of the region. This "Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday" book was the first book she wrote on her own, under her own name. She went on to write several more: "This is Freedom" (1940), "High Timber" (1941) and "Wagon Train West". The publisher of this book is also interesting, starting in 1930 to publish works by Pacific Northwest authors with content very much focusing on the area. In 1938, the year of this book, they changed their name from Metropolitan Press (which became the name of their printing division) to Binfords & Mort, and for a short period (just a year I believe), their books were distributed by William Morrow, as this book states. Anyway, an intriguing, and obviously very scarce, book enhanced with some highly accomplished drawings by the author. This is a remarkably good copy - just a whisker short of being near fine. The front endpaper has a name and address, and a bookseller's label. The edges are slightly browned, but with no other faults this is a very good copy indeed. The dust jacket is complete, with minor nicks, but has a couple of closed tears which have been well repaired internally, and is a little browned overall. An excellent copy of a rare children's book telling the story of the founding of Seattle. N° de ref. del artículo 001558
