(repeated on p. 205 and rear end-paper)otherwise internally clean, tight and unmarked. This is a University of London Ph.D. these. A deeply researched and scholarly work on this highly important but often forgotten British mathematician and early member of the Royal Society. Appendix I is extremely useful as it contains biographies of Walli's contemporaries, most half to a page long, but Thomas Harriot gets 3, (he omits Newton, probably because this would have been redundant) Apparently rare, Despite faults a very acceptable copy. 15 cm x 22.5 cm.
