CONTENTS DESCRIPTION: This is a fine history of a famous US Infantry Regiment with a long and distinguished history. The excellent volume traces its service in WWII where it fought German forces on three fronts, North Africa, Italy, and Northwest Europe and conducted four amphibious landings against enemy beach defenses. In 1942, the regiment conducted an amphibious landing in Morocco and on 10 July 1943, the regiment made an amphibious assault starting the Allied invasion of Sicily. In 1944, it landed at Anzio, conducted a breakout and drove towards Rome. In August 1944, the regiment landed again, this time in Southern France advancing up the Rhone River to the German frontier. After fighting in the Vosges and in the Alsace at the Colmar Pocket the 7th crossed the Rhine into Germany. Elements of the regiment captured Hitler's retreat at Berchtesgaden on 4 May 1945. Well illustrated and comprehensive history. N° de ref. del artículo 0322014
