Descripción del artículo del vendedor

First edition, first impression of Gilbert Ryle's Dilemmas: The Tarner Lectures 1953, published by Cambridge University Press in 1954. Original blue cloth with gilt lettering and Cambridge device to spine, complete with the original blue-and-cream dust jacket retaining the publisher's price of 10s. 6d. net to the front flap. The volume collects the Tarner Lectures delivered by Ryle in 1953 and contains eight chapters: "Dilemmas", "'It Was to Be'", "Achilles and the Tortoise", "Pleasure", "The World of Science and the Everyday World", "Technical and Untechnical Concepts", "Perception", and "Formal and Informal Logic". Blue cloth boards are clean and firm, with bright gilt lettering to the spine and only minor signs of age. Binding firm. Internally clean and unmarked throughout, with light age toning. No ownership inscriptions. Original dust jacket is complete and unclipped, retaining the 10s. 6d. net price. A small closed tear at the head of the spine, has been discreetly secured with a small piece of clear tape predominantly to the verso. Jacket shows general age toning, scattered spotting and light surface marking, with rubbing, creasing and small tears around the edges and spine extremities. The printed blue and cream design remains strong and clearly legible. Rear panel advertises works by R. B. Braithwaite, Michael Oakeshott, G. E. Moore, C. E. Raven and Stephen Toulmin. A clean first edition, first impression in the complete original priced dust jacket. …
