Paperback. Condición: Good. The Dust and the Heat by Michael Gilbert In the simmering tension of an English summer, a quiet village hides secrets far darker than the weather suggests. Young barrister Noel Anthony Pontarlier Rumbold?Napper to his friends?seeks refuge from the grind of city life, but peace remains elusive. When a seemingly accidental death rocks the community, Napper is drawn into a tangled web of deceit, betrayal, and simmering violence. As the heat intensifies, so too does the danger, forcing him to confront not only the mysteries surrounding him but the limits of his own courage. Expertly blending suspense with a keen eye for character, Michael Gilbert delivers a taut, atmospheric thriller where every shadow hides a threat, and no one is quite what they seem.
