The book, rare jacketed first edition first impression, is illustrated throughout with colour Illustrations reproduced from oil-paintings by the author, charts and monochrome photographs. In very good condition, the binding is straight and tight, the boards clean and the lettering on the spine bright. The end papers and pages are free from marks, tears or inscriptions. There is slight foxing to the top and fore edges. The unclipped dust jacket, protected in a clear, removable cover, is in fair condition, with repairs carried out to the edge of the spine, nibbling to the edges, loss to the top edge of the spine, a tear to the front cover, loss to the corners and tears to the fore edge of the spine.
