His great friend the poet Violet Kennedy Erskine illustrated the book Printed in two colours. A tale of Curling and Courting: "Noo the shots that he made were amazin', And soopit sae naething could die; The ports that he drew wi'oot grazin, and struck so that naething would lie.and his wooing by "a lassie wi' a glint in her ee" - he proposes on the ice and 3 bairns follow . "she teaches the bairns to read daily, and practice the Curling Club Laws. Boards dusty and wear at edges and spine and an ink stain on the rear board.Staples rusting but binding firm.
