Oversize brown paper-covered boards with tan back strip and brown lettering, copper metallic vignette of hand ringing a bell. Thin sunned line at head of boards, small bump mark at center of rear head of board. Text is clean and white, no marks. Unclipped DJ shows darkening to spine, small chips and tears head and heel of spine and small loss with corresponds with bump to rear cover. Minor general soil shows on light colored paper. With an introduction and notes by Martin Gardener, the editor of The Annotated Alice. "The orignal illustrations by Henry Holiday are reproduced directly from a rare early edition. The famous "suppressed" drawing of the Boojum appears here for the first time in a book. A plum pudding of an appendix contains, among other diversions, the full text of F.C.S.
