Samuel Weiser Inc., New York. 1970. 155 pages. This Crowley classic was first published privately by the author in 1909, in a tiny quantity, and quickly went out of print. This is the 1970 re-issue of the 1909 text that includes a host of additional information not included in the original from 1909. Some of the additional material not included in the rare 1909 edition include additional tables and arrangements, explanations of attributions, the meaning of primes from 11 to 97, the nature and significance of the magical alphabet, with additional essays, and prefaces. As for this copy, the binding and hinges are strong and sound. Black cloth-covered panels stamped in yellow titles on the spine. Pages and endpapers are clean. Small vintage blue bookseller sticker from Shambhala publishers/bookseller, from Berkeley, California at base of front pastedown. Small faint blue outline mirrored on opposite page. Black cloth shows minor light soiling on front panel, barely. Page edges sho a trace of faint foxing. Original DJ with $10.00 price intact on flap. DJ shows chipping along tips, open chip at heel, shallow chip at crown. two closed edge tears on rear, light rinkle, and slight soiling. Open chip at heel is approximately 1 inch.
