Descripción del artículo del vendedor

1900 ART AT THE CROSSROADS ROSENBLUM STEVENS & DUMAS 2000 HUGE 500 PLATES 300 IN COLOR. I am pleased to offer a book that should probably be on the bookshelf of anyone interested in art history. Please find: 1900 Art at the Crossroads by Robert Rosenblum, MaryAnne Stevens & Ann Dumas. Quoting from the flap of the dust jacket: 100 years ago, art was at a crossroads. Painters such as Sargent, Whistler, and Homer were widely acclaimed. Cezanne, Degas, Gauguin, Munch, Klimt, and other modern masters were in their prime. This companion volume to a major international exhibition provides a new look at what artists were creating in this watershed year. This very large hard cover book (10 x 12 ¼ inches, 445 pages) was published by Harry N. Abrams of New York, dated 2000, as the catalogue of a major international exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts, London and at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York and thus the First Edition. I will include a photo of the full text of the flap of the dust jacket because it so succinctly sets the stage for one s appreciation of this book. The book is bound in black matte cloth with an embossed 1900 on the cover and white titles on the spine; it is protected by a pictorial dust jacket. The book is lavishly illustrated with over 500 illustrations, 300 of which are in color. Condition: This book is in near fine condition. The dust jacket is without edge wear because it is double-folded on the edge. There is some faint scuffing to its finish, nothing extreme. The hard covers are unblemished and unbumped. Inside the former owner has left his embossed emblem on the front endpaper but this is the only mark I found in the book. The interior pages are clean and bright throughout, without toning or foxing. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.
