In Mexico, a corrupt, yet dedicated cop (Del Toro)struggles with his conscience when he learns that his new boss may not be the anti-drug official he made himself out to be. The film was nominated for an Oscar for Best Picture and won several Oscars, including Best Director, Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Del Toro), Best Writing, Screenplay Based on Material Previously Produced or Published, and Best Editing.
