1 11 x 8 1/2 sheet with logo, etc. of the Song Writers Protective Association, R.C.A. Building, 1250 Sixth Avenue, New York City (at head); Sigmund Romberg given as president. August 6th, 1943; to a correspondent in Lakewood, Ohio. Contents: "In going through my mail, I found the enclosed, and am returning same to you with deepest regrets that your letter did not reach me in time. Because of this, the tickets could not have been provided for you. However, I am playing Cleveland again on Tuesday, September 21st, and if you send your money-order to the Box Office or to the Ticket Agency who will be selling the tickets, I know they will be very happy to comply with your request. I do hope you will have the chance this time to attend my concert, and if you can, would like you to come backstage and say 'hello'. Until then, with all good wishes, I am Sincerly yours, S. Romberg. (signed in ink); secretarial letter which shows 2 folds from being sent in an envelope, minor tanning of edges & back of fold lines; else fine. Hungarian born American composer of operettas & musicals, Romberg composed over 70 works; those from the '20's like "Blossom Time" & "The Student Prince" (Mario Lanza in film version), "The Desert Song" & "The New Moon" are among his most famous. A few other officers or council members mentioned on the printed stationary include: Ira Gershwin, Oscar Hammerstein II & Billy Rose. Signed Romberg items are not common.
