Hardcover in unclipped dustjacket. 9-1/2" tall, 897 numbered pages includes "Sources", "Selected Bibliography", "Acknowledgements" and "Index". This book is nearly pristine: the exterior is square, spotlessly clean, free of edge dings with both upper corners very lightly bumped and with comparably light bumping at the heel of the spine; hinges are strong. The interior is pristine: it is perfectly clean and completely free of writing, stray marks, stains of any type and any sort of paper damage. Not remaindered or ex-library; likely not a Book Club edition (there is no price stated on the jacket, but there is also no mention on the jacket of any book club nor is there a 'slug' on the rear panel). The dust jacket is clean and free of tears, scratches, scrapes, and fading; jacket is now protected by mylar jacket. Signed by the author in thin tipped black felt pen beneath his printed name on the title page; done in my presence at the Missouri History Museum in Saint Louis on December 7, 2023 after a talk about his most recent book, 'Founding Partisans'. A very engaging and lively individual there were at least 300 people in attendance.
