"Keep a close eye on this artful rascal. His secrets will not remain hidden forever."
Fourteen-year-old Balthazar (Balt) Tymlyn - a budding scientific genius - is targeted by Stephanos Kôbraden - a physically-enhanced, cyber-assisted agent for Frack Undermining, Inc. The object of contention is Balt's jury-rigged touch-screen phone - the Mynd-Fynd Machine - which is able to detect and represent thoughts from ordinary brain exhaust.
Teaming with his best friend, Michael Watson, Balt wants to use his amazing invention to investigate mysteries and help others in need. However, Kôbraden and his employer, Mr. Frack, are determined to get their hands on the technology and its architect for their own, highly-suspect purposes. When Kôbraden's initial, covert approach meets with a series of unexpected outcomes, he besieges Tymlyn directly and captures the device. To get it back, Balt and his friends must outthink their opponent and use every personal advantage they can muster.
