Five maps from the Mineral Investigations Map series, varying dates (1967-71), sizes, and scales, in their original buff envelopes 24x30cm. First editions except for MI-18. All titles, texts, labels and captions are in English and Arabic. The maps are generally very good with some marks, the envelopes good with creasing and short closed tears. MI-5 Geologic Map of the Wadi as Surr Area (with Text), 1967, by Robert Johnson and Virgil Trent, colour, 1:100,000, 100x70cm including text. // MI-6 Geologic Map of Ancient Gold Mine Site Aqiq Ghamid (with Text), 1967, by CW Smith and J Kouther (topography by K Herness and J Gasperetti, b/w, @1 inch to 200 feet, 53x64cm including text. The text states that "It was mined by the ancients, and ruins with walls 1.3 to 1.5m high are standing today. The ruins indicate 150 to 200 former dwellings". Thus map details also include village ruins, roads, ancient excavation, and ancient waste dumps. // MI-8 Geologic Map of the Nugrah Area (with Text), 1967, by CW Smith and MQ Asad (topography by W MacLean and A Shanti), 3 colours, @3inches to 200 feet, 69x81cm including text. This is based on exploration conducted during 1964 around the ancient mines of Nugrah North and Nugrah South, north east of Jeddah, close to the Darb Zubaydah. // MI-18 Geology and Mineral Resources of the Al Amar-Ar Rayn Quadrangle (with Text), Revised Edition 1970 (replacing the 1969 edition), by Gerrit Eijkelboom et al, colour, 1:100,000, 101x70cm including text. This area lies within the Southern Tuwayq Quadrangle, mapped by Bramkamp et al in 1956. // MI-25 Geology of the Thaniyat Turayf Quadrangle, NW Saudi Arabia, by Charles Meissner and Abdullah Ankary, colour, 1:25,000, 73x66cm.
