"Collin Rae’s alien imagination transforms the banal hellscape of Zoom into an orgiastic funhouse mirror. Rae’s cursed portal reveals screaming sirens and liquid vixens, melting like wax, ruptured and replicating: the pandemic id in all its terrifying glory. You’ll never look at Zoom the same way again. Be grateful.”

"In a time where many artist's creative outlets were stifled, Collin found an ingenious way to express his unique style, adapting with the pandemic, resulting in these beautiful and totally original portraits. As a subject it was my pleasure to participate in this project and would be honored to continue to work with Collin in the future" - Annie April - Musician

“I commend Collin for coming up with such a brilliant idea to not only bring us all
together for a creative common good but also to manifest such surreal and beautiful
images that speak to our souls during these challenging times. As always, it is a pleasure to work with a fellow artist with such a unique and interesting perspective on our ever mutating collective field and post cyber world.” - Jon Mack - Actress / Musician www.officialjonmack.com

“Rae's musical and photographic work has always been engaging and provocative. But in this new project he manages to create a haunting feeling of passion and panic held captive behind a glass screen. The images are stunning but also relatable to a time we all shared in emotional isolation.” - Craig Brewer - Film Director

“During lockdown, we sure had plenty of distance. An ocean of distance. Like shipwreck victims, we clung to anything that might keep us afloat. Usually, images. Images appearing on our screens, in our memories…or in our feverish dreams, full of desire, beauty, and horror. The images fracture and bend, as if trying to stretch, to cover over the distance. Collin Rae’s Pandemic Portraits are saying to us: here is what you want the most…and what you fear the most. Can you tell us apart? You cannot smell, you cannot taste. But maybe you can still see us, across the distance?” - Kurt Ralske - Visual Artist / Musician
