Consultant and author James DeLuccia works every day across the globe to defend data of the world’s largest organizations. In this book, he shares the most essential things you can do to keep your information and your family safe, secure, and productive. This is the only book you need to be unhackable.

As an example - in this book you will find the answers to stopping your files from being stolen, encrypted, and held for ransom. Imagine the stress and feeling of loss to see a ransomware message threatening you, your digital photos, all of your work files in your own home demanding $300+. That is just what the WannaCry Ransomware has caused to millions, and costing nearly $4B to the victims (moms, dad, and even companies without care).
The Tips and Insight in this book are specifically being shared by experts on BBC, CNBC, WSJ, and across the cybersecurity space for major companies. If you are a victim, you can visit www.hntbh.com on the current best courses of action to recover your files.

The motivation for this book
In March of 2014, Mr. DeLuccia was compelled to write the book for his family and friends. That year, a member of James’ family was a victim of several identity thefts. In one instance, she was unable to buy groceries for her family because her debit card was being used fraudulently. After a passionate family discussion about how easy it is to avoid such harm, James’ family members finally admitted NOBODY EVER TOLD them how to be safe and secure online! Despite 20 years of serving the corporate community, James realized there was a serious lack of education regarding cyber security in our personal lives.

Since then, James has worked with professionals and regular consumers of technology (friends, parents, grandparents, high schoolers) to develop key principles that can apply to everything from social media to travel to online finances. “How Not To Be Hacked” began as an endeavor to teach his family about cyber security, and it became a guide for anyone who uses technology. The book includes 63 specific practices that are easy to implement and provide the foundation for a safe partnership with technology.
