Inscribed on the title page: 'For Karl & Christy, with best wishes - Craig - 17 Oct 1991. Biography of P.R. Stephensen, author of 'The Foundations of Culture in Australia'. Stephensen, one of the founders of the 'Australia First' movement in 1941, was detained by the Australian government until the end of WWII. 320 pages with Index, Bibliography, and Notes, photos throughout the text, 6" X 9-1/2". Dust jacket is intact and has been protected with a clear, removable cover. Dust jacket has a scratch mark on the back panel about 2 inches long, and a number '2' written in yellow on the spine panel, about 1/2 inch tall. Gray-green cloth covered boards with the title and author name on the spine. Some mild rubbing wear at the edges of the boards, the bottom right corners are just slightly bumped, some rubbing wear to the spine panel lettering though it is still entirely legible. The top edge of the text block has a couple of faint foxing dots, the other edges are clean. This is not a library discard copy. No former ownership marks, no writing on the text pages besides the inscription. The attached photos are of the copy we have in our inventory.
