The book itself is very fresh, with no inscriptions or signs of use. There are a few creases at the front in the gray buckram that covers the boards. This looks like a publisher's defect. It is very mild, and there is a charming image of a stork in flight. One corner (rear botom) is lightly bumped. The jacket has significant chipping at both front and back, but the central images are present. A mylar Brodart cover protects it. I will add that the illustrations are absolutely spectacular.
