In the original dustwrapper, unclipped (priced $5.95 on front flap), lightly rubbed at flap-folds and edges, with spots of soil to lighter portions, Very Good. Nader's first book, an exposé of the lax safety standards of the American automotive industry, especially General Motors and its chic-but-deadly roadster the Corvair. The book made Nader a household name, and essentially represents the birth of the consumer advocacy movement in the United States. Still a classic of American investigative journalism, enormously influential and surprisingly uncommon in the first printing. Despite flaws, this remains a quite presentable copy.
