Añadir al carritoFirst edition, inscribed by the author on the dedication leaf "and Paul Sullivan after 'Hazlitts' - wheels within wheels - Seamus Heaney 8 January 1997". Sullivan was a stockbroker in Massachusetts and a patron of Heaney's. Sullivan and Heaney were brought together through mutual associations with the Irish poet and editor Peter Fallon, and they remained friends for decades. The "Hazlitts" of the inscription is likely the London hotel where Heaney was a regular, while "Wheels Within Wheels" is an autobiographical poem from Heaney's collection Seeing Things (1991). This copy was acquired directly from Sullivan's estate. The edition was limited to 870 copies, of which 750 were in cloth. Brandes & Durkin A48a. Octavo. Title page lettered in gilt and black. Original brown cloth, front cover lettered in blind, pictorial Celtic knot endpapers. With dust jacket. Spine with gentle vertical crease: a near-fine copy in fine, unclipped jacket.
