Lime green cloth with black titles, with light age-soil, rubbing and light bumping to edges, sunning to spine. Spine square. Binding sound. No dust jacket. Dampstaining to lower bottom of textblock and lower fore-edge, with no impact on interior. Pages also heavily toned, else clean; text unmarked.

Original brown boards. This was the last title of the original Tom Swift series to be published by Grosset & Dunlap, which transferred the series rights to Whitman in 1935. The series ultimately contained 40 books total, and several spin-off series were created.

No previous owner markings, not price-clipped, original jacket in new mylar. 1935 copyright but the Whitman edition came out just before the War so probably about 1940. A gorgeous copy, book and jacket both about as good as it gets.

Book shows little wear, and surprisingly no toning to the bright orange cloth or top stain. Aside from a neat gift inscription there are no markings within the pages. Jacket by Nat Falk is unfaded, good or good minus, with tape stains and a piece of tape still along bottom front panel, front hinge about to let go. Hardcover. Condición: Very Good. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Very Good. 1st Edition. PRICE REDUCED 9/6/2025. This book is clean and square with a few blemishes. The head and heel of the spine are bumped without fabric rears, spine seems slightly faded, and there is a thin white streak on the ridge of the rear gutter (see photo of spine)--no damage that I can see, probably a manufacturing error. The interior is clean and free of writings, stray marks and stains; hinges are tight and pages are flexible. There is an attractive 3-1/4" x 4-1/4" personal bookplate and an inked business-type stamp of "15.00" on the FFEP. The jacket is intact with tiny edge tears and minor edge chips at the front corners and top rear corner and a bigger chip at the head of the spine (see photos). The front panel illustration is undamaged as is the spine image of Tom. A very nearly outstanding copy of the last Grosset Tom Swift title.
