Originally published in 1956 in a blue-tweed cloth version with DJ (see our listing #019790), this is a later Picture Cover edition from the early 1960s, with pictorial boards & gold spine. Slightly later printing, listing to TS#20 in front matter & TS#22 on back cover. In 214 pages with a plain frontispiece & blue/white endpapers by illustrator Graham Kaye. Condition is just barely Good: generally very clean, with mild tanning to page edges, binding strong, but starting to split at lower title page, hinges intact. Pages creamy white with very mild tanning/dust dulling to outside edges. Former owner's name & stickers inside front cover & to ffep; NO other writing/underlining/highlighting. Extremities rubbed, heavily at corners, with slight tearing to paper at both ends of spine. Rear inside cover has the bookstore stamp of the famous and sadly long gone Hudsons Book Store which was a part of the Hudsons Department Store of Detroit, Michigan. Minor shelf/edge wear, one closed tear/wrinkle and dust soiling to original DJ that still has vibrant colors. DJ now in mylar. Small area of foxing to the backside of the DJ along the spine.
