Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: Fair. 143 photos mounted (glued down) on both sides of 21 black album leaves (6 of which are detached at fold). About a third of the photos are small (4 x 6 cm.). Most of the others are 6x 8 cm. or larger. Generally mounted 2-6 to a page. One photo (of 13 women and dated December 1934) is 24 x 16 cm.) and occupies a full page. The quality and detail of most, but not all, of the photos is above average. About half of the photos are captioned or at least dated. There are numerous empty spots on some of the album leaves where a total of 30 photos have been removed or lost. It also seems likely that 4 album leaves are missing since the album appears to have originally contained 25 leaves. Tied oblong album (ribbed black cloth). 28 x 18 cm. Edges and joints rather heavily rubbed. Extensive but relatively light white streaking on front cover. All or almost all of the photos appear to have been taken in China, mostly in Tientsin, a few in Shanghai, two in Tsingtao, and at least three in Peking -- in all cases probably within the area occupied by Europeans since there is not a heavy Chinese feel to these photos. 16 photos (on three pages) are dated on Whit Sunday, May 28, 1939) and mostly taken within the British Concession. 13 photos record the Tientsin Flood on 1939. A somewhat faded photo is captioned "The Staff of 'Vozrojdenie Asii' the Anti-Communist Press Organ." Two older photos are captioned in Russian or another Slavic language and dated 1913 and 1920. Another pair of older photos are captioned "Kirin 1919. Two other photos appear to show the Russian Imperial Colors being displayed in a parade or a ceremony. Many of the smaller photos are family photos, very few of which have captions or dates which makes them of limited interest. All in all, an intriguing assemblage of images.
