Contemporary dark brown cloth rubbed and lightly stained; board corners worn; spine ends chipped/frayed; spine's gilt lettering a bit flaked but still fairly bright. Text block's top edge soiled. Three separate ownership inscriptions in pencil and antiquarian ink on front endpapers with the last being "Presented to George Little 1918" {George Little, 1838-1924, was a Confederate Army officer and served as Mississippi state geologist as well as Georgia state geologist}. Varied foxing throughout. Binding is firm. 32 page "Catalogue of Medical, Surgical, Scientific, and Miscellaneous Books, Published by Lea and Blanchard, Philadelphia. 1847." at book's rear. The five plates are b/w.
