His request (probably to Henry Somerset, 5th Duke of Beaufort as intermediary) to Lord Rolle was successful, and his son John, 1747-1826, was ordained shortly after this letter on the 26th February, and took up his post as curate at Shapwick, now in Somerset (then in Dorset) a few days afterwards.
