Añadir al carritoLoose Folders in a Box. Condición: Very Good. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Good. Used, plates are bright and in very good condition; their mounting sheets are also in very good condition, text sheets are beginning to tan. The folder has bumped corners; the bumping slightly affects the edges of the cardboard mounting the plates but not the plates themselves, edges inside the folder are darkened. Tzigara-Samurcas, Alexandru. TAPIS ROUMAINS. 1927. H. Ernst, Paris, 34 color plates, 3 pages text, loose in a folder with ties, 36.5 x 27.5. The 34 color plates illustrate 64 rugs from Oltania, Bessararbia, Banat, Bucovina, Ruthenia, Muntania and Modova. Color plates are tipped in on light cardboard. The rugs were exhibited in 1925 and 1927 at exhibitions in Paris and Geneva. Most are from the Museum of National Art in Bucharest; smaller numbers from the Museum Rath in Geneva, Prince Carol's private collection (ruler of Romania from 1866 to 1914), a few private owners and the Royal Palace, Bucarest. The author, director of the Museum of National Art, states they all came from the 1st half of the 19th century, and are probably similar to ones made even earlier. One page introduction provides some history of rug production in Romania and comments on differences in different areas. There is a list of the rugs, which area in Romania they came from, and where they are now housed (in 1927). Loose tipped-in plates and pages in a folder. Book.
