Añadir al carritoSuperlative Collection of 174 Annotated Snapshots Documenting 1952 Trip from Tennessee, United States to Montreal, Canada Collection of black and white snapshots which measure 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 inches (maybe 6 shots are slightly smaller). All are annotated on verso with date, descriptive location and catalog number. All are curled. Very good condition. Absolutely charming set of vernacular travel photos from 1952. A nice mix of street style photography, scenic photography with urban and rural views, as documented on a road trip from Tennessee on into Canada. All have a catalog number with Canadian images beginning with "C" and United States views with "US". 174 total images with no duplicates. Most of the annotations note locations (sometimes exact in city images) and road names. Many of the images create a series with annotations referring to other photos in sequence. Includes a small number of posed photos featuring a small number of identified people. Unknown photographer. Rural images include sharecropper cabins, tobacco fields and random fencelines along with vistas, rivers and roads. Numerous identified images from New York City and Ottawa, Canada. Collection also includes several images from the University of Virginia and Monticello. Despite the small image size, this collection documents mid-century North America well. If I had more time and money, the collection would make a wonderful flip book of vernacular America and Canada.
