Buckram. Condición: Good. No date but circa 1900, this is a small book of 29 postcards and memo cards between each one. Some children's markings and some straining to the hinge front and back. The cover is of burgundy buckram and has general edge wear consistent with its age but all complete and a nice collectable item.

Condición: Very good condition. Embroidered souvenir World War I kerchief with a large color image taken from a postcard, titled "Rock from the Neutral Ground, Gibraltar". The words "Gibraltar Souvenir" embroidered in blue below the image, and embroidered flags, from left to right: Japanese flag, American flag, French flag, (unidentified flag), and below, British flag crossed with flag of the Royal Navy. During the war Gibraltar served an important role as a base for the US Navy, the Royal Navy and other navies in protecting Allied Expeditionary Forces bound for combat in Europe from attacks by German submarines. The US Navy's Patrol Force in Gibraltar included cruisers, destroyers, Coast Guard cutters, and submarine chasers. Color lithographic image taken from a postcard, with embroidery below. Kerchief edged with one inch wide border, 13 x 13".

Lacquer Boards. Condición: Very Good. A mother-of-pearl inlay photo or card album souvenir for Gibraltar from Japan! A true curiosity. The front board has a naive-style illustration of the Rock of Gibraltar and the village at its base made with inlay pieces of mother-of-pearl employed along with painted work on the laccquer. The interior, in contrast, features leaves of color woodblock floral and landscape designs, all quintessential Japanese, with thin, elastic bands in which to secure cards or photos. There are seven free leaves, plus the inside of the outer boards, all so decorated, with none of the slots used. The spine is a faux leather card that is quite convincing, and the rear board is simply black lacquer. The album is 24 by 17 cm. Minor surface losses to the lacquer at corners and a few small spots on rear board.

The exterior depicts the Rock of Gibraltar and two ships off its coast in a naive onlay rendering while the interior features typical pretty Japanese color woodblock illustrations on fabric. The interior holds seven boards and has space for fourteen cards or photos, one on each recto and verso of the thick leaves. N.d, circa 1900.
