The binding design on this volume is an authorized facsimile of the original art binding on the official copy of the Versailles Peace Treaty, which was signed by the President of Uruguay and deposited in the Archives of the Government of Uruguay. In remarkably good condition in green cloth with gilt decorated front, spine and titles. Corners and spine edges lightly sciffed. Sewn binding tight and solid, square, endbands. Hinges intact. Top edge gilt. Fore-edge and lower edge rough cut. May be some uncut leaves. Frontis plate with lettered and illustrated guard. Three other plates, monotone. Internals lightly toned, in remarkably good condition--clean, no markings, no creases or tears. A comprehensive and readable source record of the world's great war emphasizing the more important events and presenting these as complete narratives in the actual words of the chief officials and most eminent leaders.
