This hardback carries a foreword by Peter Scott and covers the history, causes and course of the tidal bore on the River Severn, illustrated with black and white photographs and diagrams. The dust jacket shows a tear along the top edge with some loss, and general rubbing and wear to the edges and corners. The spine panel of the jacket is creased and marked. The book has previously been a library copy, with a Birmingham Public Libraries discarded book stamp and a Wandsworth library stamp with accession number on the copyright page, along with a handwritten shelf reference. Internally, the paper is cream coloured with some light spotting visible near the photographic plates. The text and plates appear clear.
