The artist has confirmed that this tile was published in Amsterdam and involves a unique handdrawn painting: a naive depiction of a set square. The work is an example of the artist's interest in the concept of Low Tech - Marroquin's LowTechLab project features at the Saatchi Gallery in January 2016 and includes artwork from the period. Marroquin, originally from Colombia, studied at the Maastricht van Eyck Academy in the early 1970s and moved to Amsterdam and was part of the conceptual art scene of the period. Marroquin is presently featured in the exhibition Playground Artistas Dialogo - Raul Marroquin and klaus Fruchtnis, Museo de Arte Contemporaneo de Bogota, June 30-July 31st, 2016.Extra postage will be required to ensure this ceramic item is deliverered safely.
