PUFF the cat was still called, LITTLE MEW, as of this first printing [she was PUFF in later editions]. The very first of the famous Elson-Gray Basic Readers, introducing Dick, Jane, & Baby followed by nine short stories, using a 68-word vocabulary - the birth of the original Dick & Jane series. 40 pages with each having a color illustration, the last (p40) is a collage of all of the characters, also in colors.
