The annual is softcover and tightly bound, although most of the spine is missing. The covers are bright and the interior text is clean, with an owner address in ink on the opening title page and sellotape ghosts along the spine join. The annual is NOT price clipped and states 4/-.

Rupert leap froging over Badger down a country lane. f/c illustrations. Contents page has a rainbow illustration. Contents: Puzzle Picture (missing presume on inside cover), stories include: R & the Blue Balloon. R & the Sleepy Pears. Ends: R & the Hobby Horse. and finished with How To Make a Hobby Horse (which is there). 119 pages. Condition. stapled binding, staples rusty. Minor internal marks, discolouration overall clean, GC. ? mark on coverf.

Price clipped, page 95 has top corner fold line and some light ag spots at edges all clean inside, no erasing, or old pencil mark ghosts, spine all intact a little worn at extremes. This lovely book was printed in 1948, illustrated by Alfred Bestall and published by the Daily Express, this is the original first edition of this volume, the thirteenth in the Rupert series of annuals that is still published today. The cover is slightly rubbed, but very bright and clean. The belongs to box is filled in and it's NOT price clipped. The pages are right and cleaned and haven't been pulled about. In fact, there is a springiness in the spine which makes it difficult to open for photographs - it still has that newly made feel. Overall, in VERY GOOD TO NEAR FINE condition. This is a real rarity and will make the perfect gift for the serious collector of Rupert annuals, or the lover of beautiful classic children's books. Book.
