Añadir al carritoPaperback. Condición: Very Good. Concluding the story of The Hobbit, this is the final part of Tolkiens epic masterpiece, The Lord of the Rings, featuring a striking black cover based on Tolkiens own design, the definitive text, and a detailed map of Middle-earth. The armies of the Dark Lord Sauron are massing as his evil shadow spreads even wider. Men, Dwarves, Elves and Ents unite forces to do battle against the Dark. Meanwhile, Frodo and Sam struggle further into Mordor, guided by the treacherous creature Gollum, in their heroic quest to destroy the One Ring JRR Tolkiens great work of imaginative fiction has been labelled both a heroic romance and a classic fantasy fiction. By turns comic and homely, epic and diabolic, the narrative moves through countless changes of scene and character in an imaginary world which is totally convincing in its detail. Tolkien created a vast new mythology in an invented world which has proved timeless in its appeal. Part of a set of three paperbacks, this popular edition is once again available in its classic black livery designed by Tolkien himself. The book has been read, but is in excellent condition. Pages are intact and not marred by notes or highlighting. The spine remains undamaged.

Añadir al carritoPaperback. Condición: Good+. Pauline Baynes Ilustrador. Third Canadian Methuen & Co. Original Authorized Canadian Good+ Third 1973 Methuen & Co. The Return of The King and The Two Towers 440 pp and 352 pp. of The Lord of The Rings. Two of the Three Books of the trilogy. Clean pages. Free of signatures of owners NOT library copies. A little Color flaking on both most on The Return of the King.slight on Two Towers. Overall Good+ Maybe better on Two Towers but hard to find quite early 1973 Candian Editions with the hard to find wonderful color illustration of Pauline Baynes from her commisioned map (not Tolkien's map shown) and of course here from the covers of the Fellowship at their full exhuberent strength setting out. Also interesting blurb by Tolkien in the back of 4th scan, different from the American Ballantine editions (Ian Ballantine used to come in my shop to visit me and really did look just like a hobbit) and see advertising other works by J.R.R. See in our third Scan. J.R.R Tolkien approved and was most fond of Pauline's art work and is frankly in my humble estimation still my favorite illustration of the wonder combined with medieval Faerie realism. I just love them. You do not see their faces, rather you imagine them. See all our Three Geese in Flight Celtic Book Scans.
