Red Ruff the fox, trickster of the furry folk, has no peer in animal literature. The sheer diplomacy and cheek of his sallies on hen-roost and hatchery, his crafty outwitting of the foes of the chase, his captures and escapes, his loves and hates - the stuff of real adventure, all viewed with the eye of the keen observer. Most certainly a story for all who love the timeless creatures of the Wild. The career of this dog fox, from his birth on the cliffs of the Scottish coast, down to our final glimpse of him seeking a high and safe cairn with his mate, is continuously interesting.
