Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book, written in the 19th century, presents a concise overview and critique of the concept of proportional representation, advocating instead for a system of 'equal' distribution and representation. The author argues that representation, or the number of seats assigned to a given area, should be based on population size and not on any other criteria. In contrast to proportional representation, the author's proposed system of equal representation also advocates for an equal value for each vote. The book also discusses the relationship between the number of registered electors in an area and the number of potential parliamentary representatives and the importance of ensuring the alignment of representation with shifting population distribution. In proposing a new system, the author's intent is to eliminate unreliable and ineffective periodic reform bills. The book presents a well-argued and meticulously detailed analysis of a complex topic, offering a valuable perspective on electoral reform. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
