The five issues comprising Volume One of this "all-new ongoing series that marries the magical realism of Sandman with the western brutality of Preacher" (so says the Image Comics, Inc. website; they being the publishers of the series). Written by Kelly Sue DeConnick, with art by the Spanish artist, Emma Rios, colors by Jordie Bellaire, and lettering by Clayton Cowles, the series has been very popular despite the fact that the first book gained some notoriety when it was widely reported in the pannapictagraphist's media that a staff member in a retail comic store was so critical of it that he ripped a copy to pieces in front of customers. Most modern comic enthusiasts seem to think differently. After the first issue, each book has a section called "Dead Reckoning" at the rear in which letters and Tweets are printed, along with short pieces by DeConnick. There is also "pin-up" artwork from Ted Brandt and Kaska Gazdówna. All issues are first printings: #1, October 2013; #2, November 2013; #3, December 2013; #4, January 2014; #5, April 2014. Each of these five issues is separately bagged and boarded and in perfect, as new condition. Rated M.
