Paper over the front and rear hinges has cracked but the scrim and hinges are still intact. Uncommon. Three plates are from the Maryport & Carlisle Railway survey. Aimed at civil engineers etc. on railway construction, it is a general guide (though one or two items on C.I. girders seem a bit out of date even for 1888).
