Undated but corresponds to 1st edition (1954). Cr. 8vo, circa 7.5 x 5 inches, pp. 337, hardback in dustwrapper. Book - G+, contents clean, no inscriptions, some foxing and offsetting on flyleaves but none in text, small area of top corner of front flyleaf removed, binding firm ; original orange cloth with gilt title in black square to spine, light rubbing of extremities, back clean, spine complete with a hint of fading but title block complete and bright, front clean but with a very faint water stain affecting the top quarter and a thin line of fading along the bottom edge. Dustwrapper - G, originally in a poor state the dustwrapper has been recently and expertly lined with 'japanese' paper (a thin but strong tissue) , come wear at corners, back is dusty with some edge wear, spine with some creasing and small areas of loss at both ends but otherwise complete, clear and not faded, front wih some creasing and chipping along bottom edge and a couple of small closed tears along top edge, not price-clipped ( 12s 6d), now in clear protective wrapper.
