Printed on Twinrocker Calligraphy Cream paper with handcoloring by the artist, Suzanne Moore and gilded plus mieux (this copy). Binding designed by Donald Glaister and executed under his direction. The 32-page book contains 12 poems by Corey Mesler . The suite of "paragrams" - calligraphic allusions to the text - was drawn by noted book artist and calligrapher, Suzanne Moore, to compliment the poems. Her work melds, weaves and plays with visual and verbal messages in her lettering and painting. It is printed, engraved, and in the case of the hardcover and deluxe editions, hand colored in vivid tones with silver and gold gilt. The text was set in Monotype Fairbank Italic at the foundry of Michael and Winifred Bixler and printed letterpress by Terry Chouinard who designed this beautiful book with Suzanne Moore. Terry, proprietor of Wing & Wheel Press, recently completed his Master of Fine Arts degree at the University of Alabama's Book Arts program. He is clearly an accomplished printer (there were easily over 40 run through the press for this colorful book), and we look forward to future works. It is an auspicious beginning. Suzanne Moore is a well-known calligrapher and book artist whose highly-regarded and original work is in such institutions as The Pierpont Morgan Library, the Library of Congress, the James S. Copley and the Houghton Library as well as numerous private collections in Europe and the United States. black linen spine, drab paper over boards with design by Suzanne Moore in reddish-brown with gold gilt dot, design running along fore edges with tapered 1/8" rise under paper on both front and back panels, paper label on spine printed in two colors (black and reddish brown).
