The Massachusetts Tercentenary Commission (1630-1930) presented this panorama of Massachusetts historical houses, portraits and cultural artifacts including domestic furniture and silver, accompanied by brief biographies. Many black and white photographs are reproduced, a number of them credited to Wallace Nutting, (1861-1941) the Massachusetts minister, antiquarian and photographer who published many books on colonial life in the Bay State. (The publishing company of this volume was owned by him.) Samuel Eliot Morison, Harvard historian, wrote the introduction. [Wallace Nutting--photographs] (ilustrador). Book.
